A large cropping paddock in SA’s Mid North has sold at auction for around $1824 per acre.
Rodda’s block at Robertstown comprised 69 hectares (170 acres) went to auction on Friday afternoon.
Bidding for the block at the Robertstown Town Hall began at $220,000 before selling under the hammer at $310,000.
Selling agents from Ray White Rural SA have kicked off a run off farm auctions continuing this month.
On Thursday (March 6), buyers at Dutton Park, Kapunda will be presented with a 58ha (143 acre) parcel of arable country and hills grazing from 2pm.
Wednesday (March 12) it will be the turn of buyers at Jamestown Football Clubrooms from 2pm for two big cropping paddocks taking in 181ha (447 acres) at Caltowie.
Next up, the following day (Thursday, March 13) the auction action moves to the Spalding Sporting Complex at 2pm for the sale of five big cropping/grazing paddocks comprising 155ha (384 acres) at Hacklins Corner.
And the day after that, Friday, March 14 from 2pm an auction will be held at the Clare Sporting Complex for 167ha (414 acres) of farm country in two cropping paddocks at Auburn.
The big land auction for the Ray White team during the month is on Tuesday, March 25 from noon at the Lock Football Clubrooms for a large-scale cropping aggregation in the heart of SA’s EP, the HFE Aggregation across 2429 hectares (6002 acres).
The final auction scheduled so far is the following day on Wednesday, March 26 at the Wirrabara Town Hall from 2pm for 147ha (363 acres) of Bangor mixed land with vendors instructing agents the land must be sold.
At Friday afternoon’s auction of land near Robertstown, agents pitched the block as being a handy add-on size and also as an entry level rural investment opportunity.
Average annual rainfall was said to be 355mm.
The land is majority flat arable country with fertile and productive clay loam soil types.
